DAY 1/2 WELCOME TO COSTA RICA!

The adventure begins! After a long trip, you will arrive in San José, capital of Costa Rica.

The next morning, after a good breakfast, our rental car will be waiting for us at the door of the Hotel, today we will start our route to the South of the country. We will travel about 4 hours along the Pacific Highway on the coast until we reach the town of Sierpe.

Where we will leave the car parked in a guarded parking lot and take the boat to the magical Drake Bay.

Our hotel will be waiting for us to rest and prepare for tomorrow’s challenge.

DAY 3/4/5 HIKING AND DIVING - CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK

We get up in Drake Bay, one of the most pristine areas of Costa Rica.

On the third and fourth day, all those who have chosen the Corcovado challenge, the naturalist guide will come to pick you up at the hotel to start the tour. Two days in the heart of the jungle, where we can see the amount of fauna and flora that lives in the park of Corcovado, declared as the most virgin and with the greatest biodiversity in all of Costa Rica. Visit magical waterfalls and sleep in La Sirena refuge to enjoy the sounds of the Jungle

In addition, at the beginning and end of our tour, we will take a boat, where we will have the opportunity to observe the marine fauna that exists in its seas and hopefully see dolphins, blankets or whales.
The fifth day it’s time to get in the water! Diving on Caño Island is one of the best dives in Costa Rica, just behind Las Islas del Coco. There we can dive in its crystal clear waters and enjoy the great amount of marine life and observe its fauna as blankets, sharks, the whale shark and hopefully see the whales from the surface and listen to their songs underwater.

For all those who have not chosen the realization of any of the challenges, Bahia Drake is a magical place, where you can make trails in the vicinity or relax at the Hotel to read a good book and enjoy your sunsets. In addition, the town of Drake always offers a host of activities to do.

DAY 6/7 / CANYONING IN LA JUNGLA; UVITA

On the sixth day we will wake up at our hotel in Drake Bay and head towards Uvita.

First we will take the boat that will take us to Sierpe, navigating through its network of channels. Upon reaching Sierpe we will pick up our car and go to Uvita at 1:30 h away. There we advise you to see the famous whale tail at low tide to observe this curious land formation. Now to rest that tomorrow we go of ravine!

On the seventh day, after a good breakfast, our guide will come to look for the challenge of canyoning through 5 incredible waterfalls. Where we will rappel and jumps in the heart of the Uvita jungle.

For all those who have not chosen the challenge of canyoning, Uvita gives you the option to visit different coffee farms, make a whale watching tour in the migration season or enjoy its National Park and beaches. It is also an excellent surfing point for all fans of this sport.

DAY 8/9 LA FORTUNA, A PEOPLE AT THE SKINS OF THE ARENAL VOLCANO.

On the eighth day we will take the road to La Fortuna, the mountainous area in the north of the country.

It will be 5 hours of travel that we will enjoy enjoying the changes of scenery that Costa Rica offers us, from the tropical zones of the South, to the primary forests of the mountains.

On the ninth day we will get up to go hiking through its valleys. There are two main routes; The route of the Arenal Volcano and the Ruta del Río Celeste.

From the Animal Limit team we recommend the Ruta del Río Celeste, a simple and well-marked route with a unique scenic beauty, with its turquoise blue waterfalls and green and lush forests. Also at sunset, La Fortuna offers endless thermal waters to enjoy the benefits of the volcano, from the free Chollin River banks to the luxurious hotels offered by the area.

At the end of the day, we will return our rental car at the Alamo Offices. Since from now on, we will have transportation included to San Jose.

DAY 10/11/12 NAVIGATING FOR TORTUGUERO AND RAFTING IN THE PACUARE

On the tenth day, very soon in the morning we will be picked up to go to Tortuguero.

The Tortuguero National Park is known for its network of winding canals that give us a privileged position to observe the fauna and flora of the place, as well as being one of the main nesting sites of the turtles.

That same day we will sail by canoe through its canals and visit its town.

On the eleventh day, we will make a canoe route in the early morning, the best time of the day to see the jungle awakening. After a good breakfast we will have the rest of the day free to enjoy in the Ecolodge pool or to do some alternative activity in the area.

We are already reaching the end of our trip, but we could not leave the opportunity to experience the adrenaline of Rafting in one of the most famous rivers of Central America. The Pacuare River.

On the twelfth day, our guides will come, soon in the morning, to pick you up at the Hotel to carry out the Rafting activity. Adrenaline-filled day for all ages where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast and lunch and enjoy sailing through the rivers of Costa Rica. At the end of the day, they will take you to your hotel in San José or to the airport to catch your flight back home.

For all those who have chosen the Extension to Puerto Viejo, the same transport will leave you at your Hotel in the Caribbean.

For those who have not chosen the option of Rafting in the Pacuare River, they can enjoy in Tortuguero until 12:00 a.m. and start the way back, where you will meet your family and friends who have made the challenge.

DAY 13/14/15 CARIBBEAN EXTENSION - PUERTO VIEJO.

We got up in the middle of the Costarican Caribbean, to the rhythm of reggae and its surfer atmosphere.

The first day we advise you to take the route through the National Park of Cahuita, easy trail where we can see a lot of wildlife and enjoy paradisiacal corners by the sea.

The next day we propose 2 activities to choose from. You can choose between a Kayak route on the Punta Uva River or a Surf Masterclass with a certified local instructor. The afternoon you will have free to enjoy its beaches, streets and people.

We are already on our last day of our trip, and today we have to pack our bags and return to the capital to catch our flight back home.

From the Animal Limit team we hope that you have enjoyed the magic and the wildest corners of this country, of all the beauty that Costa Rica has to offer us.

For this extension we do not believe that it is necessary to rent a car, having a fantastic public transport service to carry out all transport. In addition to rent bicycles and motorcycles in the village. In the contracting of the trip you will be provided with a document with all the details, tips and much more that you may need
